College Baseball Foundation to Announce National Award Winners at the NCAA Men’s College World Series

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the first time in its history, the College Baseball Foundation (CBF) will announce the winners of seven national awards as part of festivities at the NCAA Men’s College World Series (MCWS) in Omaha, Nebraska.

The announcements will take place at a press conference scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 13, in the media room at Charles Schwab Field, prior to the start of the second day of action at the MCWS.

“We at the College Baseball Foundation are excited for the opportunity to make our announcements of college baseball’s biggest awards in this venue where there is so much history!” CBF Awards Chair Chris Snead said. “The opportunity to showcase the nation’s best players and coaches at the focal point of the college baseball season only elevates the recognition of these deserving award winners.”

The CBF will announce the winners of five player awards, including the Brooks Wallace Award (nation’s top shortstop), the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year, the Buster Posey Award, presented by Hasty Awards (nation’s top catcher), the Pitcher of the Year Award and the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award. In addition, the CBF will announce the 2026 recipients of two coaching awards, including the Wayne Graham Award for Teaching Excellence and the Skip Bertman Coach of the Year Award, presented by Marucci.

“We are grateful to the NCAA for partnering with us to bring our all-star lineup of College Baseball Foundation national awards to the opening weekend of the Men’s College World Series,” CBF CEO and Executive Director Tom Jacobs said. “It is only fitting that we celebrate the nation’s best players and coaches at the same home field where college baseball crowns its champion.”

Finalists for the Buster Posey Award, presented by Hasty Awards, will be announced on Monday, June 1. Finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award (June 2), John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award (June 3) and Pitcher of the Year Award (June 4) will also be announced the first week of June.
