Logan Fyffe, Henry Cooke, Drew Nelson and Logan Reddemann Earn National Recognition From College Baseball Foundation
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Logan Fyffe (Missouri State), Henry Cooke (Virginia Tech), Drew Nelson (Troy) and Logan Reddemann (UCLA) earned weekly honors from the College Baseball Foundation (CBF) for their respective performances last week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Fyffe earned the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week while Cooke was named the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Week. Nelson earned the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week. Reddemann was selected as the National Pitcher of the Week.
Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week (Nation’s Most Outstanding Shortstop)
Logan Fyffe, SS, Sophomore, Missouri State, Springfield, Ohio
Logan Fyffe helped Missouri State to a 3-1 week and series sweep of Delaware, batting .471 (8‑for‑17) with three doubles, four RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases, and six free passes to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He reached base in 14 of 23 plate appearances and played error‑free while turning two double plays. In the 15-10 win over the Blue Hens, Fyffe reached base six times, scored five runs, and matched his career high with three hits.
Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Week
Henry Cooke, C, Senior, Virginia Tech, Stuarts Draft, Virginia
Henry Cooke hit .563 (9‑for‑17) with three extra‑base hits, including his third home run, while driving in three runs, scoring four times, drawing two walks, and playing error‑free behind the plate in 36 chances with two runners caught stealing. He also recorded back‑to‑back three‑hit games for the first time in his career in the opening two games of the Boston College series.
John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week Award
Drew Nelson, UTL/LHP, Senior, Troy, Troy, Alabama
Drew Nelson helped lead Troy to a 3-1 week and a series win at Texas State. He threw five no‑hit innings with six strikeouts over two appearances, facing one batter over the minimum. Nelson made a midweek start vs. Florida A&M, then earned his first win of the season by pitching the final two innings of the series clincher. He also hit .267 (4‑for‑15) with six RBI, three runs scored, two walks, and a sacrifice fly.
National Pitcher of the Week
Logan Reddemann, RHP, Junior, UCLA, Palmdale, California
Logan Reddemann matched the UCLA record with 18 strikeouts over 8.0 innings, anchoring a Bruins pitching staff that piled up 30 Ks, just one shy of the NCAA all-time single-game record, in a 4-1, 14-inning series-opening win over Rutgers. The right-hander allowed just two hits and one run, punctuating his night by fanning 11 of the final 12 batters he faced. His 18 punchouts tied Rob Henkel's mark set against Washington in 2000. Before this game, the most innings Reddemann pitched was 6.1 against Iowa on March 27.

Brooks Wallace Award
The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to honor the nation's most outstanding shortstop. It is a tribute to Brooks Wallace, a slick-fielding shortstop at Texas Tech from 1977-80 who passed away at age 27 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Prior to 2009, the award recognized the national player of the year.
Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award
Established in 2000, by the Wichita Sports Commission, the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award is presented annually to honor the nation's most outstanding catcher. Posey began his collegiate career as a shortstop, before moving to catcher where he won the 2008 Johnny Bench Award, Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award. In his MLB career with the San Francisco Giants, Posey earned three world series titles, seven All-Star Game selections, five Silver Slugger Awards, the 2010 National League Rookie of the Year, 2012 National League MVP and was a 2016 Gold Glove Award winner.
John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award
The John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player. Olerud, who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, was a standout pitcher and first baseman at Washington State University from 1987 through 1989. The Olerud Award partners with 64 Analytics to assist with the identification of players for the weekly award as well as watch lists.
National Pitcher of the Year Award
The Pitcher of the Year award, college baseball's version of the Cy Young Award which was created in 2009, is given annually to the nation's top collegiate pitcher.
