College Baseball Hall of Fame Brings Home Run Dugout to Kansas City
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College Baseball Foundation announces the grand opening of the Home Run Dugout activation in Kansas City on July 8, 2026, an interactive batting experience located inside the College Baseball Hall of Fame at the Museum at Prairiefire, located at 5801 W 135th Street in Overland Park. The opening marks the first phase of the Hall of Fame's debut, with next phase of the museum anticipated to open to the public in 2027.
The grand opening celebration for the Home Run Dugout area of the College Baseball Hall of Fame at will begin at 3 p.m. with remarks from the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, local officials, and other partners with the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, VIP guests will be among the first to step into the bays and experience Home Run Dugout's simulated batting technology firsthand.
Several College Baseball Hall of Fame inductees are expected to attend the celebration, including former University of Nebraska standout and Kansas City Royals World Champion Alex Gordon and Joe Carter, former Wichita State University standout and Toronto Blue Jays World Champion, who will join VIP guests, local government officials, and community leaders for the festivities.
Home Run Dugout brings the same interactive, technology-driven batting experience found at its flagship location in Katy, Texas, and partner installations at venues Globe Life Field with the Texas Rangers, and Cooperstown All-Star Village, to the heart of Kansas City. Guests step into state-of-the-art simulated batting bays for an experience that blends the thrill of hitting with modern, interactive technology, now available to fans, families, and visitors as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Home Run Dugout activation within the College Baseball Hall of Fame will be open to the public following the grand opening celebration, operating Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m.
